I'm Nadia Kim, a licensed teacher, non-practicing lawyer, and experienced tutor based in South Korea. With 13 years of teaching and tutoring experience across the U.S., South Korea, and online platforms, I specialize in helping learners communicate confidently and succeed academically.
I hold a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University. I’ve taught in international schools, U.S. classrooms, and one-on-one settings, guiding professionals, teens, and children in developing real-world communication skills, academic writing, and test readiness.
Whether you're preparing for a standardized exam, building fluency in English, or looking for clear, supportive math instruction, I bring a structured, results-driven approach tailored to your goals. I’ve also helped North Korean refugees, international school students, and professionals worldwide improve their skills with clarity and confidence.
Let’s work together to help you—or your child—reach the next level.
I began my education career by tutoring New York City public school students during my senior year at Brooklyn Technical High School, one of NYC's top specialized public high schools. I continued tutoring throughout college and into my early career, helping students improve in English, math, and writing.
I paused tutoring to earn my Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law. During law school, I studied education law and policy, which inspired me to pursue a more direct impact through teaching.
I taught world history to middle school English language learners at an international school in South Korea. This was my first full-time teaching position and a pivotal step in my transition from law to education.
I earned a Master of Education (Ed.M.) in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard University and became a licensed teacher through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
I returned to South Korea to teach English and history at top international schools. I worked with high-achieving students on academic writing, reading comprehension, and presentation skills. I also volunteered as an English instructor for North Korean refugees, helping learners develop practical communication skills and fluency.
After years of in-person teaching, I transitioned fully to online tutoring. I now work with students worldwide through Preply, italki, Superprof, and private lessons, offering personalized instruction in ESL, math, test prep, and academic support. Helping learners grow in confidence, skill, and independence has been the most rewarding part of my journey.
